We grew up as the youngest two of five siblings in an Amish-Mennonite community in Central Pennsylvania.
From our parents, we learned the value of home-cooked meals, strong family ties, and hard work. Our mom made nearly every meal from scratch (always with plenty of butter), and our dad worked tirelessly to provide for our family while teaching us the importance of humility and respect.
When we left our childhood community, we entered the "real world" with no connections, no formal experience, and no college degrees.
What we did have was work ethic, resilience, and a determination to build something of our own.
In 2018, we purchased a food truck and a cherished donut recipe from our cousin at Mrs. Yoder's Kitchen in Richmond, Virginia.
That leap of faith became Yoder's Dutch Delights.
After six years of serving Northern Virginia at farmers markets, festivals, and private events, we opened our first brick-and-mortar location in Manassas Park in February 2025.
During the transition to a permanent storefront, we invited our cousin Kimberly, daughter of Mrs. Yoder, to join us in continuing the family legacy.
Yoder's Dutch Delights is our way of honoring our Pennsylvania Dutch roots while forging our own path beyond tradition. With every donut we make and every customer we serve, we hope to share a taste of our culture right here in Northern Virginia.
